BMI Reaches Out To Investors In South Africa

has rolled out its discretionary investment management services to offshore investors through South Africa-based Glacier International.

Users of Glacier International's Global Life Plan will have access to BMI’s range of offshore segregated discretionary services, including its range of risk-rated, multi-asset and single strategy (bond and equity) portfolios, which are available in multi-currency options and for a variety of entry levels.

Glacier International was launched in 2010 as part of Glacier by Sanlam's strategy to expand its offering to serve affluent and high net worth clients.

“The addition of our discretionary investment services to the Glacier International Global Life Plan supports our continued commitment to servicing the professional advisor and private client investor base in South Africa,” said Lindsay Bateman, business development director at Brooks Macdonald International.

“Our range of investment solutions can invest in a wide variety of vehicles across the full spectrum of asset classes, providing an excellent fit for South African investors who are increasingly looking to diversify their asset base.”

Brooks Macdonald International, which has offices in Jersey and Guernsey, provides discretionary management, custody and dealing services for professional advisors, private clients, trusts, charities and pension funds.

In September, the business secured a $40 million mandate to manage half of all South Africa-based Personal Trust International's offshore portfolios.
